Peteinosaurus was absurdly delicate compared to the heavily built dinosaurs and other archosaurs of the time. Almost transparent wings stretched tautly over paper-thin bones gave the creature a wingspan of 60 centimetres and a total weight of little more than 100 grammes. A long straight tail of 20 centimetres helped with balance during flight, but whilst on the ground, Peteinosaurus would have had to keep its wings tightly folded lest a gust of wind sent it flying!
